“Super stimulating activities like high speed Internet porn, playing video games and gambling hijack the brain because they cause unusually powerful changes in our endogenous (built-in) neurochemicals”
My guest this week is the author and speaker Noah Church. A child of the Internet Age, Noah B.E. Church regularly used Internet porn from age 9. Throughout his entire adulthood and without knowing why, Noah was impotent when it came to real-life sex. Then, on January 1st, 2014 at the age of 24, Noah saw The Great Porn Experimentand started his no-porn, no masturbation journey, thus recovering from porn-induced erectile dysfunction and rediscovering his passion, ambition, and capacity for love and joy in the process. Forever changed by this journey, he realized he had to share his story and what he had learned in order to help others suffering with porn addiction and porn-induced problems. Among other jobs, Noah is now a public speaker and the author of Wack: Addicted to Internet Porn.
What you will learn in this episode:
- The neurophysiological effects of internet porn
- How Noah realised he was addicted and what he did about it
- How parents can talk to children more effectively about their use of online pornorgraphy
