By 27/04/2016October 13th, 2016No Comments

Technology will continue to challenge the way we perceive our lives and our task is to manage that challenge

– Professor David Levy

In this episode, I speak with the University of Washington Professor, David Levy about the blending of mindfulness and technology; and also his new book, Mindful Tech. Professor Levy, of the Information School from the University of Washington focuses on ways people can achieve contemplative balance, particularly in this digitised global society.

Professor Levy is the author of two books: Mindful Tech: How to Bring Balance to Our Digital Lives (2016) and Scrolling Forward: Making Sense of Documents in the Digital Age (2001, new ed. 2016)

As a professor in the Information School, David received his PhD from Stanford University and he spent time at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center (Xerox Parc).

This is a fascinating interview and we hope you enjoy it.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

Why the challenges we face from digital technology are not dissimilar to those faced 20 and 30 years ago

How a mindful attitude to digitised life can benefit your mental health

How to mindfully ‘unplug’
